If you're like me, with the rising cost of goods and services, as a pet owner, you're always in search of cost effective methods for your pet's health. Being in the pet industry, I've heard clients complain about topical flea control somehow no longer working. Perhaps we've created super fleas and Advantage and Frontline no longer work. So about a year ago, I started researching a healthier alternative to flea control. Somehow the idea of putting a pesticide directly on my animals didn't seem entirely safe. What are the long-term effects?
Upon doing extensive research, the one alternative that kept popping up was Food Grade Diatomacious Earth. This amazing and safe mineral can be dusted directly on your pet, furniture, carpeting, pet beds, etc. The product is so safe, in fact, it can be added directly to their food. Food Grade Diatomacious Earth is mined from the purest of deposits from prehistoric freshwater lake-beds and consists of finely milled silica shells of ancient, microscopic freshwater plants called diatoms.
Diatomacious Earth as a flea control acts by removing the waxing coating of fleas and thereby dehydrating the pest. It also works effectively to detract flies from dogs and farm animals. Added to your pet's food daily it is amazing for internal parasites. Since using the product, I've not seen any fleas in my home.

Since the product has so many beneficial qualities for our pets, I decided to research further and see if there are any benefits for humans. What I learned motivated me to ingest this amazing mineral daily. I add approximately 1 teaspoon daily to my orange juice. The beauty benefits include, revitalizing hair, nails and skin and even fades age spots. Used daily with regular dental care, it effectively fights ulceration and the decay of bones and teeth and lessons inflammation.
The essential health benefits include, lowering bad cholesterol, controlling high blood pressure, repairs lung tissue, helps with osteoporosis, arthritis, helps prevent kidney stones and is a natural diuretic which can increase excretion of urine by 30%.

I've also discovered an amazing product sold in some pet stores. Vetericyn is a non-toxic, broad spectrum antimicrobial. Vetericyn works by healing from the inside out. I have several experiences with the product, including a dog bite puncture wound from two dogs that played too roughly. One of the dogs got a puncture wound right above his eye and by the next day he had a pus pocket which was abscessed in the area of his neck If anyone is familiar with dog bite puncture wounds, invariably the wound almost always needs to be lanced to release infection. As soon as I saw the abscess, I grabbed the bottle of Vetericyn and sprayed on the wound whenever I thought about it. Within days the abscess was completely gone, there is absolutely no scarring and the dog is just as healthy as before.
I have several testimonials from clients and customers on the product. One client told me how his dog had been bitten by a rattlesnake and received the anti-venom from the vet. Although the dog lived and was healthy, his leg where he had been bitten never healed and the tendons and muscle were still exposed. Multiple trips to the vet and several hundred dollars later, the tendons and muscles were still exposed, until a friend told him about the amazing properties of Vetericyn. Within a week or two, skin began to heal and the tendons and muscles were no longer exposed. When he told his vet that he had used Vetericyn his dog the vet said, "That darn product is going to put me out of business!"
Vetericyn is as safe as water and can be sprayed inside the mouth, eyes, nose and of course the skin. It's great for skin abrasions, eye and ear infections, and hot spots.

A natural diuretic is less likely to have some of the side effects associated with pharmaceuticals which are used as diuretics for dogs.
